    I've always loved the cemetery and West End is a beautiful example of historical burial grounds.

    Townsville's original and historic cemetery with the current cemetery in Belgian Gardens.

    It was built in 1865 and is now no longer in use for burial. It became heritage listed in 1996.

    It holds particular historical significance due to many of the town's founders and first influential people were buried there.

    It is well preserved and aesthetically pleasing. Stepping back in time to see the names of people who not only helped make the city but were also my family as my family tree goes back to Townsville's early years.
