Good Thing for Do-it-yourself Movers

It’s often said that innovation requires you to “think outside the box.” Fortunately for do-it-yourself movers, the folks at ABF U-Pack Moving ® did just the opposite. By thinking inside the box, U-Pack created the innovative ReloCube ™ moving and storage container.

ReloCube

The ReloCube is a portable moving and storage container that’s 6-foot deep, 7-foot wide, and 8-foot high. A ReloCube is large enough to accommodate one room of furnishings, yet small enough to fit into a parking place. Load it, lock it, and keep the key – ABF does the rest.

Custom-built expressly for ABF®, ReloCubes are made of steel and aluminum. Because of their easy access and secure clasp, ReloCubes are extremely popular options for a wide variety of customers.

ABF U-Pack moving

Ashley White used two ReloCubes when she moved from Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Nashville, Tennessee. “I liked the fact that they’re so easy to load. The ground-level access means you can just walk in – there’s no walking up a ramp with a heavy box. Plus, there’s no need to rent and drive a truck,” said White, an MBA student at Vanderbilt. “Will I be using ReloCubes again when I graduate? You bet.”

ReloCubes also have become a staple of ABC Television’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Every project requires precise coordination and logistical management to meet a rapidly approaching deadline.

That’s why they rely on ABF not only for ReloCubes but also for freight transportation, moving supplies, and logistical support.

Partner with America’s Second Harvest

ReloCubes became a tool in the fight against childhood hunger when ABF U-Pack Moving teamed with America’s Second Harvest, The Nation’s Food Bank Network, to create awareness and raise funds through a virtual food drive called U-Pack A BackPack.

“The America’s Second Harvest Network provides approximately 16 meals for every dollar donation we receive,” said Vicki Escarra, president and CEO of America’s Second Harvest. “The virtual nature of this initiative assures the highest impact in the fight against childhood hunger.”

While many ReloCubes were on location creating awareness of the fight against childhood hunger, others were busy collecting and recycling old athletic shoes.

Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program

As part of a national Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program, NikeTown retail locations partnered with their local communities in a drive to recycle as many shoes as possible. ABF U-Pack Moving provided ReloCubes for shoe collection, as well as transportation for the effort. The collected shoes were processed into a granulated material called Nike Grind, used for a variety of sports surfaces donated to underserved communities.

ReloCubes can often be spotted at several special events because of their utility and ease of use. For example, you might see ReloCubes at an American Strongman competition, where events sometimes include the ABF Truck Pull.

So the next time you need to move a few items, consider a ReloCube. They’re ideal for moving from an apartment complex or storage facility where parking is limited.

Become a master packer
